Spring at River Farm

On April 10 and 11, BAEE members Mary Page Hickey, Eileen Malone-Brown, Judy Rodgers, and Bonnie Driggers, attended the annual Spring Garden Market sponsored by the American Horticultural Society (AHS) at River Farm. http://ahsgardening.org/about-river-farm/events-programs/spring-garden-market

They had a table set up to sell autographed copies of the book, American Botanical Paintings: Native Plants of the Mid Atlantic. On Friday the weather was a little too cold for comfort; on Saturday it was warm but still windy enough to blow over the table sign and flowers. The BAEE spot was next to the Virginia Native Plant Society group, who were also selling a book about native plants, and the AHS half-price table that was selling tempting bargain books on plants and gardening.

If you were not able to attend this year, mark your calendar for next year. The AHS Spring Garden Market at River Farm is a not-to-be-missed event for gardeners and lovers of plants—particularly native plants.
