Botanical Art Class in Falls Church, VA

Anne-Marie Evans MBE came to Falls Church the week after Thanksgiving, 2016, to teach another of her wonderful botanical art classes. This time, students painted the native Ilex verticillata or Winterberry Holly. Because the pictures were smaller than usual, artists were able to concentrate on details, such as those of the wonderful red berries. Everyone thought this was probably our most successful class yet.

A big advantage of having regular classes is that the artists get to know each other. We all work hard during the class period and then gather around tables for lunch to discuss what everyone has been doing and what other classes Anne-Marie will be teaching. One evening most of the attendees went to the Dogwood Tavern for dinner.
